Just came back from seeing Star Trek. Finally, a decent summer movie, I needed a good eye rinse after the mess Iron Man 3 was. 

I went with an open mind, as I usually do when it comes to “sacred” franchises, although, to be honest, I feel it’s not hard to do justice to something like Star Trek. Bam. The action was good, sound and effects were great and the story, overall, decent. (Predictable as the Moon)

Cumberbatch was decent enough as the main baddie, he had presence and added a lot of weight to his scenes but man does this guy like to overact in this movie. Cringe worthy at one point.
